Tom Hollywood - Super Donor
From time to time, people send me messages offering to send me coins. Sometimes they're collectors who want their part of country represented, sometimes they're just people who happen to have a couple coins taking up space in their desk drawer, sometimes they're proprietors of businesses who have a machine and want to promote it, and sometimes, the person is Tom Hollywood.
Tom wrote to me out of the blue because he liked my site and he wanted to contribute to my collection and to the web site. Tom wrote, "From now on, when I roll a penny for me, I'll do one for you, too. Helluva deal!"
Boy was it! Over the next few months Tom sent me huge packages of coins, each machine separated into its own envelope, a photo the machine and a brochure from the attraction where the machine was. I was overwhelmed.
Tom sent me over a hundred coins without asking for anything in return. Finally I had to ask him to stop, that there was no way I could return his generosity. (let alone write a funny story about every coin he sent me!) In the original message Tom wrote to me he said "I feel left out of your "donors" list, probably because I never sent you anything..." Well Tom, you literally made the "donor list", thanks so much for your generosity, you are the best there is.
