Nevada - Various
This is the intro text unfortunately I have nothing to say about utah
"Harvey's Casino Lake Tahoe, Nevada" Is this the place that was built directly on the state line and had the line painted right through the place? One side had gambling and one side didn't? I don't know, but I do like this penny, it just seems better than more of the pennies produced lately.
"Burning Man 2003 - Beyond Belief" While it's true I have a dusty old bicycle, I'm not the type who goes to Burning Man. My Brother-in-Law Travis and Sister-in-Law Eva bartered for this one for me, I'm not sure what they traded, but I'm glad they did! Thanks you guys!
"Red Garter Hotel and Casino - Wendover Nevada" Fawn gave me this one. I guess she was in Wendover recently. What was she doing there? I don't think she's a gambler... what is there to do in Wendover... Where is Wendover? Oh jeez, here we go again.
"Snowmobilin' - Zephyr Cove, Lake Tahoe" When I saw this penny, sent to me by my old friend Jann, I thought, "Snomobilin', huh, that's kind of strange." Well it turns out that's what they call it at Zephyr Cove.
"Emerald Bay - Lake Tahoe" As you know, I'm from San Francisco, ok ok I grew up in San Bruno, 12 miles south down the peninsula from the City, and the truth is I really haven't spent much time anywhere else. So when my friend Jann sent me this penny from Lake Tahoe, I'm thinking, "What the heck is Emerald Bay?"
"Zephyr Cove - Lake Tahoe" It turns out that Zephyr Cove is some kind of resort at Lake Tahoe. I don't know if they have any dancing grizzly bears there because I haven't been there. my old friend Jann sent me this penny during the summer of 2003.
The "M.S. Dixie II - Lake Tahoe" is a paddle wheel river boat you can chug around Lake Tahoe in. If you're wondering what the MS stands for, get you answer straight from the source.
