Colorado
I can guarantee that I've never been to Colorado. All the pennies you see here were given to me by somebody who had been there... so they said.
"Colorado Rockies Baseball Club" I'll admit it, I'm a baseball fan. I go to about 70 Giants games a year and over the course of those 70 games you get to know other
lunaticsfans who go to that many games too. Some of them even travel with the team sometimes to see games in other cities. Brad went to Denver and brought this penny back for me. Thanks Brad!
"Dinger 95" Woody and Nancy went to Denver in 1995. While they were at the Rockies' game, they got some smashed pennies. Ever since, they've been finding them in their stuff, one at a time, and giving them to me. They found this one in October 2001.
"Pikes Peak - Cog Dog" Martha brought this one back for me also. Pikes Peak is also in Colorado Springs, but I don't think its part of Garden of the Gods. Anyway, I like the little train engineer dog, I guess he's some kind of mascot. (sheesh, I have got to start getting a few more details on these descriptions.) Update! - Joan wrote and told me some things about the Cog Dog!
"Balanced Rock" This one came from the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Co. I don't know if the place is a state park or something. My friend Martha brought it back for me, thanks Martha! By the way, this penny is two sided, but the other side is horizontal and I didn't want to mess around with a rollover.
The next two pennies came from brady's friend from the Well. I don't know much about them or about the friend. Anyway thanks Vision! This one reads "The mint at Leadville, CO" and has a stag head in the middle.
"Mt. Elbert Colorado - Elev. 14,433" It shows a picture of the mountain. Both of theses pennies are different from any others I have in that the imprints are strangely worn down, as if the dies were really old or something. If you've ever seen anything like this, let me know!
So, I'm helping my friends Woody, Nancy, and their baby daughter, Miranda move. We're almost done, there's just one piece of furniture left in the truck, the desk. I take out each drawer one at a time and in the back of the last drawer I found this penny that Woody had picked up in 1995 at Coors Field. I begged and begged him, and he gave it to me! Yippee!!
